That’s exactly the topic that Kenny Luck addresses in his new book “Soar” which I just read compliments of WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing through their Blogging for Books program.
Kenny Luck is the president and founder of Every Man Ministries and men’s pastor at Saddleback Church. Because of these ministries, his focus is on men in particular and their relationship with the Holy Spirit. There’s no doubt that the material presented would be totally appropriate and powerful for women as well, but it is written in a style and with a bent towards men. There is even a workbook section in the back of the book if you’d like to use this book for a men’s group discussion.
In this book the author addresses every aspect of the Holy Spirit from accepting His power in your life to the areas that you can expect Him to work in your life. The book is full of practical applications as well as examples from the author’s and others’ lives. One of my favorite features of this book is the prayer at the end of each chapter. These prayers powerfully address the topic of each chapter in a very personal way. I can see myself referring back to these and praying them in my life again and again.
All in all this is an excellent and highly motivating book that every man should read. It will help you make practical application of the Holy Spirit in your life so that you can have a powerful impact on the lives you come in contact with.
