By God’s Grace I Will

I was reading a Facebook post recently and the question was asked whether it’s right for Christians to impose their beliefs on others. The question was specifically addressing homosexuals and marriage, but it really can apply to so many more situations than just that.

Well, my answer is yes, I believe it is right. It’s not a popular answer. It’s definitely not politically correct. It is none the less my belief. I believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. I believe He is the One and Only True God. He is the only One that holds the Truth and no one else does. I believe that someday, that belief will be confirmed for all to see.

Because of that belief, I MUST stand by what I believe to be right and true. And because I believe it, and because I truly care about others, I cannot stand idly by and just let them continue on with what I know to be a dangerous path. If my neighbor believed there was nothing wrong with their child playing in the middle of the highway, I would not sit back and say “well, it’s their belief system” and watch their child be run over by a truck. I can no sooner sit back and watch my neighbor follow a path that leads to eternal destruction.

As I stated earlier, this belief is not popular. It causes me to be labeled a bigot, or full of hate speech. People think of me as a fundamentalist nut. I don’t like it, but I cannot just turn my back on what I know to be the Truth. I may look like Don Quixote charging at windmills, but so be it.

Neither is it enough for me to simply keep my beliefs to myself and allow others to keep theirs. It’s not out of bigotry,or hate, or self-importance, or religious zealotry that I do this though. It is truly out of love. I don’t want to see anyone follow a path I know only leads to hurt and destruction.

Call me stupid, call me a hater, call me a nut, but by God’s Grace, I will continue to speak what I know to be Truth until I’m called Home.

Good thing you remembered to include “bigot” and “hate” in the tags for this post, because I’m seeing a lot of bigotry and hate. Very Christ-like.
You Fundamentalist Christians are the worst. Spend your lives looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (a few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old. “Stupid, hater, nut” – good choice of words, really.
